Sweet Potato Chaat

Lets make snack time - FUN... Here is something new for you to try out. It will not only tingle your taste buds but will also help to fill the "Nutrition Quota" of the day.

Prep time : 15 mins || Cuisine : Indian || Course : Snacks || Servings : 4

Ingredients :

  • Sweet Potato : 2, big sized

  • Chickpea (boiled) : 1 cup

  • Onion : 1/2 cup

  • Capsicum : 1/2 cup

  • Tomato : 1/2 cup

  • Coriander leaves, chopped : 2 tbsp

  • Broccoli florets (boiled) : 1 cup (optional)

  • Grated Coconut : 2 tbsp

Green Chutney:

  • Garlic : 1 clove

  • Ginger : 1/2 inch

  • Salt : 1/2 tsp

  • Cumin Seeds : 1/2 tsp

  • Water : 1 tbsp

  • Lemon Juice : 1 tbsp

  • Onion (chopped) : 2 tbsp

  • Green Chilly (chopped) : 1

  • Chopped Coriander Leaves : 3 tbsp

#tip : you can swap the chickpea with sprouts or bengal gram or horse gram or green moong or boiled chickpea or sprouts or boiled rajma.

#tip : you can swap the grated coconut with roasted almonds or pista or walnut or sunflower seeds or sesame seeds.

#tip : you can also add a little beaten curd on top for that extra zing.

Method :

  • Slit the Sweet potato vertically (leave the peal on).

  • Steam it for 12 - 15 mins or bake at 350° for 8 - 12 mins - until soft. Set it side on a plate.

  • Now take all the green chutney ingredients and blend until smooth.

  • Take a bowl and mix in the green chutney, boiled chickpea, tomato, onion, capsicum and the steamed broccoli properly.

  • Now take a spoon and scoop the chickpea mix and spread it over the sweet potatoes.

  • Garnish with the grated coconut and coriander leaves and serve.
